The Charon mortuary refrigerator, intended for keeping deceased persons in chapels next to churches or in cemeteries, is a much more elegant and efficient equivalent of the refrigerated cover normally used before burial. This equipment offers several advantages, both in terms of functionality and of respect for the deceased and their families.

The stock version has wooden panels in the shade DR03 of Igloo colour chart.

Mortuary refrigerators are designed to keep the deceased in a more elegant and dignified way, which is important for families wishing for a calm and respectful farewell ceremony.

The mortuary refrigerator plugs into any 220V socket and maintains inside its enclosure a temperature of +4 / +8°C, at an ambient temperature of +15ºC/+25ºC and relative air humidity up to 65%. The exterior panels are made of wood-textured MDF and several shades are available in the Igloo colour chart, which you can download below.

The refrigerated catafalque is fitted with a refrigeration unit running on eco-friendly refrigerant R134A and has an installed electrical power of 0,6 kW. Under continuous, non-stop use, the equipment consumes 5.8 Kw / 24h. The mortuary refrigerator is also controlled by an electronic thermostat and features automatic regulation of the cooling process and automatic defrosting.

The coffin is inserted easily thanks to a roller system and a door fitted with hydraulic pistons. The interior of the mortuary refrigerator is made of acid-resistant stainless steel and is illuminated.

The Charon 1 version of the mortuary refrigerator has only the refrigerated glass display for one coffin, while Charon 2 has both the refrigerated display and storage in the lower part for a second coffin.

The Charon mortuary refrigerator is CE certified and meets European sanitary and epidemiological requirements.
